Saturday Arts School is a semester-long program usually held in the Spring and Fall. It is designed for children ages 6 and up to build confidence and promote creativity. Students are strategically required to take all classes offered (Art, Dance and Drama) this offers them the unique opportunity to experience the arts in different forms. Each semester ends with a Theatrical Production.
Days: Saturdays( additional rehearsal days are required as we get closer to production date)
Time: 9:00 am to 11:30 (Breakfast is served at 8:45 am)
Semester Duration: 8 to 10 weeks
Meeting Place: 3294 Britton Rd, Henrico VA (East End AG)
Cost: $80 per month (Can also be paid weekly or the entire semester in advance. There is a pay-as-you-can option available for those who may need it, contact us for details)
Dare Huddle/Production Meeting
This is a group coaching session that takes place each week before classes. Life lessons and leadership skills are emphasized during these sessions. For each production, our students are given to the opportunity to serve as assistant director, set design, costume, stage manager, etc. Production meetings encourage students to come up with ideas, discuss plans and strategy for upcoming productions.
This class typically covers the following areas:
Vocal warm ups
Physical warm ups
Script analysis, interpretation, and performance
Visual Arts Class
Topics covered include:
Drawing with Paint Basics- drawing with pencils and paint; experiment with Line, shading value and basic shape designs.
Painting Basics- the basic color wheel ,mixing colors to form new ones.
Set Design and Construction
